Compact professional dermatoscopy for contact and non-contact examination
The HEINE DELTAone is a compact handheld dermatoscope designed for the non-invasive examination of skin in professional healthcare environments.
Its achromatic optical system, 10× magnification, LEDHQ illumination, polarized and non-polarized viewing modes, and 21 mm true field of view support detailed visualization of skin structures during dermatology, primary-care, urgent-care, and outpatient examinations.
The compact black-and-silver design is easy to carry between examination rooms and fits comfortably into a clinical coat pocket.
Achromatic optical system
The DELTAone uses a three-element achromatic HEINE optical system designed to provide a sharp, evenly illuminated image across the field of view.
The optical system delivers:
- 10× magnification
- 21 mm true field of view
- 22 mm lens diameter
- Multilayer-coated optical surfaces
- Diopter adjustment from -4 to +4
- Clear imaging at different observation distances
The focus can be adjusted according to the clinician’s eyesight and preferred examination distance.
Polarized and non-polarized illumination
A dedicated toggle button allows the clinician to switch between polarized and non-polarized illumination.
Polarized light helps reduce surface reflections and may be used without immersion fluid for many examinations. Non-polarized contact examination can be performed with the contact plate and an appropriate immersion medium when clinically indicated.
The examination mode should be selected according to the lesion, clinical workflow, and practitioner preference.
Three adjustable brightness levels
The DELTAone provides three selectable illumination levels.
Its LEDHQ lighting system produces a typical color temperature of approximately 5,700 K and a color rendering index of at least 90. The LED has a typical operating life exceeding 50,000 hours.
Contact and non-contact examination
The dermatoscope can be used for both contact and non-contact skin examination.
For contact dermatoscopy, the supplied contact plate is positioned against the skin. For non-contact examination, the contact plate can be removed, providing a working distance of approximately 15 mm.
The manufacturer’s instructions permit wound examination only in non-contact mode. The device is intended for use by qualified medical professionals in professional healthcare environments.
Autoclavable contact plate with measurement scale
The included contact plate features an integrated millimeter scale to assist with measuring visible skin lesions.
The contact plate can be removed for cleaning and reprocessing and is autoclavable according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The dermatoscope body must be cleaned and disinfected using the approved surface-reprocessing procedures and must not be steam sterilized.
Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
The DELTAone is powered by an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
Typical operating time ranges from approximately 80 minutes at maximum power consumption to approximately 460 minutes at minimum power consumption. Typical charging time through the USB connection is approximately 75 minutes.
The complete configuration includes a medical-grade USB power supply and compatible country adapters.
Optional digital documentation
The DELTAone can be connected to compatible smartphones using an appropriate HEINE smartphone adapter or universal smartphone connector.
Compatible image-management solutions can support:
- Capturing dermatoscopic images
- Patient-image organization
- Serial documentation of lesion changes
- Image review and sharing
- Clinical documentation
Smartphones, adapters, mounting cases, and software services are not included unless specified in the quotation.
